Oude en nieuwe hollantse boerenlieties en contredansen
From 1700 to 1716 the Oude en Nieuwe Hollantse Boerenlieties en Contredansen were published. This collection of 996 tunes in 13 booklets was republished in facsimile in 1972, but the book is difficult to find.
All 13 parts are here in abc and pdf format. I tried to follow the original notation as much as possible. The pdf-files are in modern notation (the original manuscript was handwritten). I’ve used the standard abc notation, so there are some typographical limitations. An advantage of the abc file is that it’s easier to transpose or play the tunes.
The original HBC contains some errors and ambiguities that I kept in the abc. I’ve also added some original mistakes myself. You can find a corrected version by Richard Zillman, along with transposed versions for recorder on his site Free Notes .

The Dutch composer Douwe Eisenga composed 10 beautiful piano songs based on the first 10 tunes from the HBC.
